Anti-Trafficking (AT) Network of Serbia is a network of organizations of civil society that plans and takes anti-trafficking actions, in cooperation with relevant stakeholders, in order to prevent, reduce and solve the problem of human trafficking on the national and local level in the Republic of Serbia.
Human trafficking is a serious felony and grave social problem because it most drastically violates basic human rights – the right to life, the right to choose, the right to freedom of movement. Whenever a person is sold or bought in order to be exploited by being forced to sex work, beggary, domestic servitude, theft or marriage, it is a case of human trafficking.
Activists from Vlasotince and Nis marked December 18 - “International Day of Migrants” by handing out brochures and holding banners. A message was sent to fellow citizens from Vlasotince: "People, not border"; and to fellow citizens from Nis: "Imagine yourself in their shoes."
Activists from the Center for Girls from Nis and SOS for Women and Children Victims of Violence from Vlasotince gathered in Nis on December 17, 2020, in order for the previously coordinating organization transfer knowledge to the new coordinating organization. At the six-hour meeting, the Center for Girls shared its experiences, knowledge and scientific lessons with the new coordinating organization - SOS for Women and Children Victims of Violence Vlasotince. In the following days, a new proposal for the AT network project was written by joint forces.
Activists of the Center for Girls marked December 2 - “International Day for the Abolition of Slavery“ by holding banners, handing out pamphlets and talking to their fellow citizens. Marcelo's song Cep was heard from the speakers through the action, which talks about labor exploitation. A lot of people stopped to read banners and take photos or talk to us. About 500 people saw the street action.
