Anti-Trafficking (AT) Network of Serbia is a network of organizations of civil society that plans and takes anti-trafficking actions, in cooperation with relevant stakeholders, in order to prevent, reduce and solve the problem of human trafficking on the national and local level in the Republic of Serbia.
Human trafficking is a serious felony and grave social problem because it most drastically violates basic human rights – the right to life, the right to choose, the right to freedom of movement. Whenever a person is sold or bought in order to be exploited by being forced to sex work, beggary, domestic servitude, theft or marriage, it is a case of human trafficking.
AT Network meeting was held on October 9-11, 2015. The representatives of all 8 organisation were present. We talk about: project presentation (objectives, activities, gantt chart), agreements regarding future actions and obligations, choose 8 local coordinators.
In order to mark July 30, World Day against Trafficking in Persons, the activists of the Human Rights Committee Vranje – SOS Helpline Vranje organized a street action of distributing educational and informative material. By organizing this action, we wanted to draw citizens' attention to the fact that millions of children and half a million women a year become victims of human trafficking, and that anyone can fall victim to human trafficking, especially uninformed people.
In order to mark the European Anti-Trafficking Day, the Center for Girls organized several events in October in Niš:
1) On October 17, 3 workshops on the "Prevention of Human Trafficking" for the students of Fashion and Beauty High School, educating 52 students of I, II and III class of this school in the process
