As a member of the AT Network, the Girls’ Center in Niš contributes to the network’s joint efforts in preventing human trafficking through its local programs and activities.

During 2025, the Center carried out the following activities:

Prevention of Human Trafficking in Public and Digital Spaces

Informational campaigns on social media reached 40,000 people, while street actions in the center of Niš engaged more than 3,000 passersby and created space for conversation and awareness-raising. During these activities, discussions with citizens focused on the concept of human trafficking, its most common forms, and ways to report it.

Lectures in Schools

In six secondary schools, 169 students and around ten teachers were informed about recognizing risks, protection methods, and available support mechanisms. Special emphasis was placed on identifying warning signs, ways of protection, and who they can turn to for help in case of suspicion or danger.

Day Center for Children

Through the Day Center, which has been operating since 2023, more than 500 different support services were provided to children during 2025, most often from the Roma community. In addition to regular activities (meals, opportunities to shower and change clothes, rest, play, and learning support), the focus in 2025 was on workshops for girls and their mothers, including health education, creative and craft workshops, and outreach work with families.
