The members of the Anti-Trafficking Network commemorated October 18th – the European Anti-Trafficking Day in Vranje.

Twenty-one activists from five cities took part in a street action, which involved holding banners and distributing leaflets with information on the problem of human trafficking and contact information of all members of AT Network.

The banners read: ''Only United Can We Stop Human Trafficking'', ''Forced Beggary is a Form of Human Trafficking'', ''Join us! Reduce the Number of Victims. Get Informed and Identify Trafficking''.

Human trafficking is a severe criminal offence and serious social problem because it most drastically violates basic human rights – the right to life, the right to freedom of choice and the right to freedom of movement. Whenever a person is sold or bought in order to be exploited by being forced to sex work, beggary, domestic servitude, theft or marriage, it is a case of human trafficking.
